I'm Vicent Marti, a Financial Analyst at Compass Group. However, my journey didn't begin here. Originally from Spain, I grew up as a high-performance cyclist, competing across Europe. This experience sparked my curiosity about the world beyond my home country and exposed the inherent risks of being an athlete, as one injury sidelined me for two years. This setback led me to reconsider my future and explore alternative paths.
After many long nights at the library, I secured one of the limited 75 spots available to study International Business in the high-performance group at the University of Valencia, ranked among the top 300 universities globally. This program would later allow me to pursue a dual bachelor's degree for free in two countries as long as I obtained one of the top university grades (who wouldn't go for it?!).
I was granted one of six scholarships offered to study in the USA, particularly at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. This, along with two internships with Compass Group, led me to my current role.
You might be wondering why I have my own website. The answer is that I love coding, and even though I mostly focus on Python and VBA, I decided I wanted to gain a new skill set in front-end development (not the best idea; building this website was very painful).

This project focused on analyzing annual greenhouse gas emissions across European Union countries. I utilized two models: a constant slope model and a constant elasticity model.
To test both models, I incorporated several variables. Some of these were later removed based on significance levels to enhance precision.
This was my first R project, and although I ended up finding non-normally distributed errors, it significantly contributed to my proficiency in data analysis and statistics.
In this paper I investigated the impact of long-term inflation and debt on economic growth. Data from the IMF, OECD, and World Bank were analyzed using variables such as Central Government Debt (% of GDP), CPI (annual %), GDP Deflator (annual %), GDP growth (annual %), and GNI growth (annual %).
The statistical correlation analysis proved slight negative correlations between debt and growth and inflation and growth. This project significantly enhanced my data analysis skills by providing hands-on experience.
This VBA project employs Do While and For loops to systematically iterate through files in a selected folder. It uses a "DataLocation" sheet to define data locations, extracting and importing data into the current workbook's "Data" sheet.
The script efficiently closes each file after processing, displaying a completion message when all files are imported. This automation avoids human error and saves more than 200 hours of recurring manual work.
This VBA automation project streamlines the process of handling weekly reports in Microsoft Excel. The VBA script is designed to enhance efficiency by automatically adding consistent formatting to the reports and constructing a dynamic pivot table for insightful analysis.
With the automation of these repetitive tasks, the project significantly reduces the time spent on manual formatting and data organization, allowing users to focus on deriving valuable insights from the weekly data.
